A Bowl of Congee on New Year's Eve

It's a congee night.

It’s the last day of 2014, and I caught a cold. I feel like a blob of germ right now. :( *sniffles*

Another year literally flew by AGAIN. Seriously, what happened to the clock? Ever since I came here, time keeps zooming past me. There’s always so much to do but I never seem to have enough time. Perhaps I need to be more efficient with my time..hmm.

I actually thought I would be out this new year's eve, counting down to 2015 with friends. Nevertheless it will be a homey (with a bowl of congee) new year's eve instead this year. :)

I might come up with a random new year's resolution tomorrow. Honestly, I can't even remember the resolutions I made for 2014. Or did I not make any? Oh dear... I actually can't remember. My head is so blocked up right now.

Has anyone made any new year's resolutions?

Anyway, time to snuggle up in the duvet.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! (^_^)

Towards the End of 2014

Drink of the month: Christmas cookie latte~ yummy!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas! It's almost the end of another great year! With 2014 waving goodbye to me, I do have a few things to reflect on. (I am listening to Enya singing as the credits for Lord of the Rings are showing. The music is making me slightly sentimental..lol)

A Super Full Weekend

Wow Christmas is almost here! Only 2 more day to go! *jumps around in excitement*

Christmas dinner is the best yet most difficult meal to cook. Preparing and cooking the food can take hours, literally. Not to mention the aftermath of the kitchen.

Tick, Tick, Tick

Oh dear...I haven't posted for more than 3 months?! (O_O) I didn't realise that until I looked at my last entry.

What happened over the last 3 months? Let me quickly some it up in some bullet points otherwise it could take a while.

  • Moved house.
  • New job.
  • Had food poisoning.
  • Got ill.
  • Visited a local GP for the first time.
  • Ended up in A and E.
  • Recovered.
  • Went back home for a while.
  • Caught a virus.
  • Had a flu.
  • Went to A and E again. lol
  • Recovered.

It has been an interesting 3 months. I learnt that a cold in the UK is nothing compared to the colds and flus in Hong Kong. I never felt so ill in my life! The germs here are really nasty. I couldn't move or eat much when I had the flu, so you can imagine how frail I was. Seriously, my spine reminded me of Golem at one point (not a good feeling).

Nowadays I feel pretty weak and tired most of the time, so I'm trying to pick up my appetite and exercise again.

Anyway, I'm working on my next video. Hopefully it will be ready soon! :D

This is a short post for tonight. Time to waddle to bed!

Good night world~ Have a wonderful day tomorrow!

Thankful :)

It isn't easy being thankful all the time.
We tend to neglect about our blessings.
Today I want to try something new.
I want to start recording things that I'm thankful for.
I was really inspired by the gratitude journal and I want to remind myself of the blessings in my life.

I think it's a good practise because it helps us stay positive! =)

Things I'm thankful for today:

1. Remembering that God loves me very much and He wants me to be happy.
2. The other half of my life.
3. The lovely feedbacks at work.

The rain doesn't last forever, the sun will come out eventually.

Wishing you a lovely day filled with sunshine! (^_^)

Time for bed! Good night world~

You are an Amazing Human Being

I still can't believe this lego plane was designed and built by a 4 year old. There’s no manual for this aeroplane!! Just look at all the details. He’s so creative!
A few days ago I watched a youtube video of a 7 year old girl with a black belt in karate. Most of you probably have already seen that video. I'm sure we all agree that she was incredible. Her video left my jaws hanging for a while and it reminded me of a talented person that I know.

Roses Overload

Whenever you travel to new places, you will always have the opportunity to learn about the local culture. So I recently travelled to Hong Kong and I happened to spend Valentine's Day here. Being very honest, Valentine's Day seems like a BIG DEAL in Hong Kong. It seems to be even more important than Christmas. The amount of bouquets I saw were phenomenal. I have never seen so many people holding flowers in my life! Back in the UK, we may see a few bouquets here and there on Valentine's day but we hardly see giant heart shaped balloons or a mountain sized bouquets. The funny thing is that most of the time it ends up being the boyfriend/husband who carries the flowers or balloons with a very proud looking girlfriend trotting along next to him. It felt as if the flowers is a trophy to show to all the girls around. The bigger the bouquet, the better. I was quite fascinated so I started counting the number of bouquets I saw on my way home. I'm not even joking, when I reached home I counted 50 bouquets. (Remember this is just on the way home.)

When I got home I was inspired to make a cartoon based on this funny Valentine's Day which I experienced, and the impression I had of it. So my latest creation is called 'Roses Overload', just a silly video for a laugh. Enjoy! :)

A Break From The Concrete Jungle - Exploration

It can be really exhausting when you're always in a city that hardly sleeps. On top of that, you're constantly surrounded by skyscrapers. Wouldn't it be nice to spend some time with some fresh air by the sea? I love a vibrant city but it can make me feel somewhat stressed. So I recently went for a small getaway with some friends to a place called Sai Kung in Hong Kong. It's a really nice place to relax and escape from continuous crowds in Hong Kong. If you ever drop by Hong Kong, this place is definitely worth a visit. Unless you have water phobia because Sai Kung is mostly surrounded by the sea. XD lol
